Layering necklaces has been a very popular recent fashion trend. It’s not too much of a stretch to use take the basic layering skills, add a little bit of basic jewelry making skills to duplicate this necklace.

Start With the Ncklace Base

This necklace’s base is the multiple strand turquoise and diamond choker. Shoppers have to be realistic. It is just not feasible for those with a normal wallet to buy the needed length of gemstones using fine, sky blue matched real turquoise and diamonds. The base goes around Eva Mendes’ neck four times so a length of at least sixty-four inches in total is needed.

Novica sells a necklace that has the advantage of being a starter base look – more strands can be added to fill in the neckline and it has five small turquoise pendants already attached. The image is shown on this page. Price: $69.95

This necklace is nineteen inches in length and is fabricated from sterling silver and as the artist puts it ‘reconstituted turquoise ‘. In other words, not untreated natural turquoise. The turquoise is fairly sky blue in color with some black matrix markings.

Novica makes another necklace by the same artist that is also suitable to use as a base. This necklace is fabricated from ten oval turquoise cabochons with a slightly larger single turquoise pendant. Also made of sterling silver, it’s sixteen inches in length. Price: $119.95
